NOTICE:
We wanted to give you an update on what’s happening with SNAP benefits this month:
The court gave federal government two choices: make full SNAP payments or come up with a plan to use emergency contingency funds by Wednesday. The federal government decided they won’t make full payments, but they will use the contingency funds to pay partial regular benefits to current SNAP recipients.
DSS received the federal government’s calculations for distribution of November’s partial benefits at 9 a.m., Nov. 4.
We do not yet have a deadline to say when these benefits will appear on cards, but are seeking to get a better understanding of that in the coming days.
In the meantime, if you need immediate food assistance, please use these resources:
- CTFoodshare: Text FOODSHARE to 85511

These organizations can connect you with emergency food resources.
